Thank you for visiting our web site and for allowing ALAS to tell you about ourselves. The Latin American Security Association (ALAS) was founded in 1997 with a clear purpose in mind: educating, setting standards, and elevating the level of professionalism in the Latin American Security Market. Keenly aware of the fact that these are key issues affecting the future of this market, ALAS started looking for ways to affiliate manufacturers, distributors and dealers, and unite them in a common cause.

Today ALAS has the support of AMERICAS' SECURITY EXPO (AFSE), and a number of leading companies such as ANIXTER, ATI, BOSCH, DSC, GE SECURITY, HID CORPORATION, HONEYWELL FIRE SYSTEMS, LENEL, PELCO, SAMSUNG CCTV/GVI SECURITY INC., SONY, SMITH DETECTION, TOUR ANDOVER CONTROLS, UNISOL and many more.

In the past two years, the ALAS main purpose is the furthering of the education of electronic security technicians and engineers in Latin America, almost 2.800 people have been certified with this program at the end of 2004 in alarms, access control, CCTV, fire detection and security systems integration courses.
