ALAS Appoints a New Executive Director
The Latin American Security Association (ALAS) has announced the selection of Frans Kemper as its new executive director. The appointment is effective immediately. In his new position, Kemper will report directly to the ALAS Board of Directors. Born and raised in Holland, Kemper studied business and marketing, and brings to ALAS a high level of management experience. Beginning in 1996, Kemper held management positions in the Latin American market with Philips and was responsible for the development of the Latin American CCTV market. From 2003 to 2007, Kemper was director of sales and marketing for Latin America for Bosch Security Systems.

Andrea Ferrando, director of public relations for ALAS and a member of the association’s board of directors, said, “ALAS is proud to have an executive director with Frans’ level of experience as part of our team. The addition of Frans is one of the steps the Board of Directors is taking to achieve the goals of our strategic plan. Our industry is constantly changing and we are sure that Frans will bring an excellence that will establish ALAS as the association leader in Latin America.”

“The security industry has a responsibility for the safety and security of people and their possessions. There is a great need in Latin America to have solid and reliable systems of electronic security installed in homes and businesses,” said Kemper. “However, we can only meet this responsibility with a clear working knowledge of the products. My appointment as the new executive director allows me the opportunity to position ALAS as the standard of professional education in Latin America. “This is only the beginning,” added Kemper. “ALAS will have several surprise successes in the years to come.” Franz Kemper can be contacted by email at frans.kemper@alas-la.org

GC-02 Base is docking station/charger for the GC-01 Reader.
The DigiToolTM Guard Patrol system uses Location Tags and KeyFobs for the accurate identification of Guard Tour locations and personnel. Congratulations letter – ALAS courses
Good Morning Mr. Guzmán:
I would like to express my gratitude for the Access control course recently held in Panama City. It was very useful for me to acquire further knowledge and I would very much like to take other courses that ALAS has to offer. The following is very true on a technical level and I would describe as follows: there are 1.000 ways to hammer a nail into the wall, very often we know of 999 but only one way is the correct way…this is what I learned by taking this course. Thank you again !!

Your sincerely,

Ricardo Rodriguez, MBA
